of Kindness Theatre Company, a community theater using the New Oxford

Arts in
Education Partnership, hosted by the Cultural
Alliance of York County, is the regional extension of the
Pennsylvania Council on the Arts that serves Adams, Franklin and York
counties by offering artist residencies to schools and non-profit
service agencies in those counties.
The
Adams County Arts Council, is committed to promoting an
environment in which the arts are supported, enhanced, and enjoyed by
the community and its visitors. It is a 500-member nonprofit agency
supporting artistic efforts throughout the county’s schools and
communities.
Majestic
Theater hosts an assortment of professional touring and college
and community music, dance, theater events and film.

Allenberry

Oyster
Mill Playhouse is the home of a volunteer-driven community
theatre. Each year, we present a season of eight productions

Theatre Group, (GTG) (Harrisburg) is the combined Theatre
Company of Popcorn Hat Players Children's Theatre and Harrisburg

the enlightenment, entertainment and education of children and adults

artists into schools and community organizations across the region

Fulton Opera House, (Lancaster) a professional Equity regional

Lebanon
Community Theatre is a non-profit, volunteer organization
made up of many talented people both on the stage and behind the
scenes who volunteer their time to create live theatre. Each
production requires help in many different areas: Set design and
construction, costuming, and stage crew are just a few of the
"behind-the-scenes" jobs needed to make a production come
to life. People with day jobs become artists, carpenters, and
directors in the evenings and weekends. They all come together in the
interest of providing great performing arts for the community.
Lebanon
Valley Council on the Arts is the area's umbrella arts agency. We
serve as an advocate for artists working in all the disciplines and a
clearinghouse for information on all aspects of the arts. We promote
theater, music and dance performances.
Mount
Gretna Theatre at the Mount Gretna Playhouse is primarily a
professional summer stock company, however, there are many volunteer
opportunities.

PCCA ArtFlow is the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts in Education
Partnership serving Juniata, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder
and Union Counties and is dedicated to providing high-quality,
innovative residencies to students of all ages through collaboration
with artists, schools, communities, businesses and governments.

Youth & Family Theatre fosters and inspires growth,
creativity and responsibility in people of all ages and cultures
through a broad theatre arts program. Dreamwrights was founded by a
group of families who believed that participation in a quality
theatre arts program would have a profound and valuable impact on
their children. They shared a vision of a youth theatre that
was also a vehicle for families to work together in all aspects of a

in 1933, York Little Theatre is one of the oldest continually
operated community theaters in the United States. York Little Theatre

Theatre Association, (EdTA),” which includes the
International Thespian Society (ITS), “was founded in 1929
[and] is the professional association for theatre education. EdTA’s
mission is to make theatre a part of lifelong learning. The
Association’s major areas of effort—educational
development, teacher training, and advocacy—serve to accomplish
this mission by helping to improve the learning environment in the
theatre arts.”
Pennsylvania
Keystone Arts Education Network offers links to the Pennsylvania
Department of Education and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. In
addition, it hosts special interest forums for teachers of the arts.
Poetry
Out Loud National Recitation Contest. Created by the
National Endowment for the Arts and The Poetry Foundation, this
program encourages high school students to memorize and perform great
poems. Poetry Out Loud invites the dynamic aspects of slam poetry,
spoken word, and theatre into the English class. This exciting new
program helps students master public speaking skills, build
self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage.
